Fred Moreno

Chief Deputy Legal Counsel, North Carolina Real Estate Commission

A Cary, North Carolina native, Fred graduated from East Carolina University with honors and attained a degree in Business Administration.  After working in the mortgage industry for 5 years at Wells Fargo in Charlotte, he returned to the Triangle to attend North Carolina Central University School of Law, receiving his J.D. degree with high honors in 2010. Following graduation from law school, Fred joined the Durham County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted criminal cases for the State of North Carolina.  He joined the Commission’s Regulatory Affairs staff in June, 2013.

Fred’s duties involve prosecuting complaints before the Commission; conducting settlement negotiations of contested cases; representing the Commission on appeal; and responding to inquiries relating to the License Law, Commission rules, and real estate transactions, generally. Fred is also registered as a Legislative Liaison and represents the Commission’s interests in dealings with the General Assembly.
